Alter (ways)

Alter (Ways) is a study of the early fracturing of post modernist architecture. These environments are a familiar miniature acropolis scattered on the periphery of many towns across the country.  Documented in the guise of monoliths, these ruins and those on the cusp of deterioration, demonstrate an eternal quality.

To keep perpetual ruins like these as part of the fabric of the built environment should be seen as a signal, not as a way of dwelling upon past failures but as a means of maintaining hindsight.

The timeless silence of the photograph should inform us of what can, have and will become our future urban and lived-in landscape, the persistence of history that conditions the present.
